To Serve and to Protect

I’m sad today. And I’m scared. Scared for my family, and ultimately the fate of this country. A little 4 year old girl just watched someone who she should be taught is a protector, and hero, take the life of an (assumed) innocent man. As a police officer, you know when you sign up for that job, your life is in danger. That’s a given. You know that you may get a gun pulled on you, you may get in a gun battle and you may get shot. That is what you sign up for. You also pledge to serve and protect. That’s what we, as a country, need our officers to do. And what that means is being selfless. It means putting the needs of citizens ahead of your own. It means communicating, and establishing respect so that citizens know, you don’t want to harm them, rather help them. And it means doing just that….helping, not harming. That little 4 year old girl watched an innocent man get shot 4 times, and then sat beside her mom and said, “It’s ok. I’m right here with you,” as her mom cried, yelled and screamed at the injustice she just witnessed. That little girl knows how to serve and protect.

Opportunity vs. Job

How does society teach us to make extra money?

• An RN takes extra shifts.

• A police officer works through the night.

• A teacher tutors after teaching all day.

• A hairdresser finds more clients and spends more time on their feet.

• A graphic designer takes on freelance clients and spends an additional 2-3 hours at home in front of another computer screen.

• A single mom works a second or third hourly-paid job.

• A broke college student spends nights and weekends driving other people across town.

All of these ways involve spending more time AWAY from your family and friends. Isn’t the goal to spend more time WITH the ones you love?  A non-traditional way of making money and being with your family really does exist. It’s not a pyramid scheme. It’s a legitimate business model – one that’s been around for over 100 years. Stop spending time AWAY from your family for an hourly wage when you can invest and LEVERAGE your time at home.  I was BLESSED when I was introduced to this opportunity. Let me do the same for you!!

My Future Weatherman

Blue: Mom, when I was laying in your bed, the lady on tv told me it was gonna be sunny today, rainy tomorrow and rainy the next day after tomorrow.

Me: Really?

Blue: Yeah. And it was sunny today. So I think it’s gonna be rainy tomorrow.
